Disappointed Wildlife is a project conceived curated and designed by motion director and designer Andrea Braga. 15 animators and 3 sound designers were tasked to bring to life 15 illustrated portraits of animal species at risk of extinction.

The brief was to convey the animal’s disappointment and draw attention to their endangerment. Split into five main groups: Savanna, Arctic, Rainforest, Mountains and Marine. Andrea’s haunting illustrations have each animal staring at us, hold the viewer accountable.

Kong’s contribution consisted of a Gorilla roaring, followed by interpretations by 17 artists. A collaborative studio effort if ever there was one! And yes, veers more towards the loony.

The illustrations are printed as a Giclee on Smooth Fine Art Paper. When viewed through a smart phone the artwork is brought to life using the augmented reality Artivive app.
