Britain’s Secret Apartheid
Churchill: Britain’s Secret Apartheid – Documentary Animation for Channel 4
Kong Studio created a series of animated sequences for Churchill: Britain’s Secret Apartheid, a powerful Channel 4 documentary produced by Red Bicycle.
Presented by historian Nadifa Mohamed, the film explores how in 1942 Churchill allowed the U.S. military to bring racial segregation to Britain, sparking social tensions and violent clashes across the country.
Directed by Paul Berczeller and produced by Will Robson, the documentary blends archive footage with newly created animation. Kong’s sequences helped fill gaps in the record and vividly reconstruct the alleged crimes against Black GIs.
The result is visually striking and deeply moving.
